What to expect.
If you are interested in meeting with Claire you would first of all begin by meeting for an hour long Initial Consultation. This is your opportunity to tell her more about yourself, your goals, to ask questions and to feel comfortable with the process. She will also thoroughly explain how hypnosis works and how it can help you. This time together is important and necessary, as Claire is able to gather all the information she needs, so that the sessions are tailored to you and what you want to get out of it.
Everything that you want to improve on is then addressed in the following hour long Hypnotherapy sessions.
You have a choice upon booking: Some people like to book the Consultation separately and then have a think about booking any following Hypnotherapy sessions. Others who are more motivated or ready to get started book the Consultation and the Hypnotherapy session back to back. This would then be a 2 hour appointment with Claire.
Results expected: To see permanent, lasting changes plus depending on the issues, Claire often recommends about 6 sessions spaced over a few months. Also there she has recorded has many different Hypnotherapy CD’s which are supportive to the sessions. These help to establish new habits patterns too. We know that repetition is key so you as the client take care of the repetition at home with a 30 minute relaxing CD full of postive suggestions. By you listening at home to this it helps us get faster results.
Why are 6 sessions so important?
Did you know that it takes 3 weeks or 21 days to establish new habit patterns? In order to do some re-learning subconsciously we want to cover this time period plus make sure we have got to a place where we are then establishing new neural pathways in the brain. Thereby setting in place new habit patterns that will continue to work automatically in a much more positive way. In order to create a permanent, lasting change in the way we think, feel and behave we have to establish these new neural pathways in the brain. This doesn't mean it takes 6 sessions to feel better, you will start to notice a difference after the first one and this leads into a progressive and cumulative change over time. By working together over 6 hours together and that time frame, we are making changes that will last.
Over the many years Claire has been working with clients, she has put together a series of sessions that she know works to get the results you both want. Each session is different and involves many different techniques including direct or indirect suggestion, imagery, Ericksonian, HypnoAnalysis, Parts Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Future Projection. This selection of techniques will be dependant on what you will need to address the issues in the most rapid way possible.
Claire says''I often find it amusing that people ask me if Hypnosis really works...yes of course it does! Then this is usually followed with the expectation that if this is the case, they will be ‘’cured’’ in one session. No! That is very rare the exception rather than the rule.''
These views have come from the many myths portrayed in TV, the media and stage hypnosis, where people appear to be under the Hypnotists control and respond to suggestion immediately. Realise that these people are still in hypnosis at this point and will come out of that state and go on with their lives as if nothing has happened.
Let me tell you what is really going on with stage Hypnosis. Stage hypnotists ask for volunteers, this rules out the introverts or anyone who wouldn’t want to be vulnerable/exposed in front of friends or colleagues doing something they might not be willing to do in general. Then a Hypnotist does a series of suggestibility tests to determine who he/she will keep on stage and who has to sit back down. They must find the extroverted, highly suggestibility volunteers in order to have a show. This would not likely be you or me or 95% of the crowd. That leaves the rest of the crowd thinking that they could not or must not be hypnotizable but this is not true either. If you gave the stage hypnotist 10 random people, he would probably have a panic attack as he may not have a show at all!
Everyone can be hypnotised, it is a normal natural brain state. What differs among people is their level of suggestibility (this is not susceptibility) and this varies for a number of reasons. LIST these. So stage hypnosis makes it looks like magic, but it is not....although it’s pretty special!
Six sessions is often the minimum number of sessions you can expect if you are suffering from issues such as Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, Fears and Phobia.
Ten sessions is the Complete package: this is for Weight loss, IBS, Insomnia, Bulimia, Addictions such as Alcohol.

How will Hypnotherapy feel?
Hypnosis is a safe, natural relaxed state and one which you have experience many times before (sometimes many times a day). You are aware and in control at all times. It feels like being half awake and half asleep, so your body is very relaxed and your mind is active.
You hear the majority of what Claire says and sometimes consciously drift away from the words towards a deeper level of consciousness (still aware), so it feels very relaxing. Your most hypnotic times of day are upon awakening or before you go to sleep, so this will feel natural. Hypnosis feels very comfortable and in this quiet state, your mind is more responsive to the positive suggestions. Everybody enjoys their sessions, as it’s time for you to relax, unwind and focus on your goals.
